The oldest band group of Poggio Moiano performed for the first time in 1868.
Over the forty years since its inception, the group had experienced various events, struggling between economic difficulties and insurrections; the two world wars decimated him, therefore without a uniform he decided to stop his musical activity.
It was reconstituted only after the Second World War but the historical period of great suffering hindered the revival of this ancient tradition. In October 1972 Don Antonio Santini was called to the succession of Mons. Agostini Pepi in the parish of the Immaculate Conception in Poggio Moiano. In April 1973 Don Antonio Santini decided to set up a musical course by entrusting Maestro Vittorio Lopa with the task of establishing the Youth Folklore Group of Poggio Moiano with the aim of resuming a band tradition that had been interrupted for years.
