Working as an extra and model, Betty Pendered, at the time known by the artist name Ayala and maiden name Bernadette Jackson, worked on other film projects such as Dixon of Dock Green and Coronation Street. It was common practice at this time to record over reels and as such there is no known surviving footage at this time other than her contribution as 'West Indian's Friend' in Baby Love, 1968. Her modeling career however, has been imortalised on the Studio One album ' A Scorcha from Studio One / Bamboo (1970) ' and the novel ' The Bright Cantonese' (6Feb , 1970) , both of which featured photographs of Ayala.
