Minnie Minoprio, born in 1942, after graduating from the Arts Educational School and the Academy of Classical Dance, made her fifteen-year-old debut with Tommy Steel at the Colosseum Theater in London in Rogers Hammerstein's "Cinderella". Many participations followed in theater and with British permanent companies (Coventry, Nottingham, Windsor) and opera singing studies.
She met Walter Chiari in 1959 and was immediately chosen as the subrettina for the Italian revue "Io e la margherita" where for 8 months she toured plays the role of a young co-protagonist. Other theatrical and cinematographic works followed up to the meeting with Garinei and Giovannini who cast her for the role of "Bonita" in "Ciao Rudy" with Marcello Mastroianni.
In 1966 she began a partnership with Roman jazz musicians very active in those years and for 4 years she was able to sing in cabaret, and concert with the best musicians in the sector (Roman New Orleans Jazz Band, Basso and Valdambrini Quartet, Big Band by Angelo Pocho Gatti , Carlo Loffredo, Marcello Rosa's New Dixieland Sound, etc.).
She is considered the most authentic interpreter of traditional jazz blues in Italy, but her versatility allows her to participate in pop, operetta and disco-music shows, recording 5 albums and more than 15 singles.
