Mac Ronay, pseudonym of Germain Sauvard, was a French actor and acrobat. After the Second World War, Mac Ronay decided to leave the stunt shows, also due to the changing tastes of the public, and began to perform as "Mago Alcarthy", performing tricks in the night clubs of the French capital, at intervals between a striptease and another. Surprised by the hilarity caused in the audience by a bad trick, he had the idea of changing his show in a comic key, thus giving life to the character of clumsy and clumsy "magician" who, together with that of the "flea tamer" and of the "crazy pianist", will ensure his success and international fame. During one of his shows as "Magician Alcarthy" he is noticed by Maurice Chevalier, who will get him a writing at the Casino de Paris, allowing him to make a "qualitative leap" that will soon lead him to tread the tables of the stages of the most famous clubs in Parisian magazine, including the ABC, the Bobino, the Lido and several others. Mac Ronay made his debut in 1956 at the famous Crazy Horse with his bewildered character, always impassive despite his magic tricks ending up in disasters, and obstinately reluctant to pronounce any word on stage, with the exception of the exclamation "Hep!".
