Giorgio Calabrese was an Italian lyricist and television writer. Calabrese entered the history of Italian pop music as the author of the literary part of some of the best known Italian songs of all time. Discoverer of talents, he launches numerous female voices into the world of entertainment including Orietta Berti, Annamaria Baratta, Milena, and manages to bring Ornella Vanoni, until a few years before "niche" singer, in the ranking of best-selling records writing for her verses elegant and modern for songs such as Domani è un altro giorno, Il tempo di impazzire, Uomo mio, bambino mio. The work of lyricist in the following years mainly concerned the adaptation in Italian of lyrics of songs in French (Aznavour) and Portuguese (Jobim); this work has made it possible to popularize in Italy little-known aspects and genres of international music.
