Paolo Conte

Italian singer-songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist, born 6 January 1937 in Asti, Piedmont, is one of the most original and innovative contemporary musicians. Formed as jazz pianist; in 1962 with the Paolo Conte Quartet, where his brother Giorgio Conte plays the drums, makes the recording debut (with the RCA Italiana). A lawyer by profession, in 1974 leaves definitively the "Forum", devoting himself to the artistic career and becoming one of the most influential italian singer-songwriters, often author of music for other artists (also collaborating with Adriano Celentano and Roberto Benigni) and esteemed abroad. In 2007 receives the honorary degree in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts of Catanzaro for "Razmataz", a multimedia opera.
