Dario Fo was an Italian satirist, playwright, theater director, actor and composer.
He was the author of theatrical performances that make use of the comic styles of the Italian commedia dell'arte and which are successfully represented all over the world. As an actor, director, writer, set designer, costume designer and impresario of his own company, Fo was a well-rounded theater man. Famous for his theatrical texts of political and social satire and for the political commitment of the left, with his wife Franca Rame he was among the exponents of the Red Militant Aid.
