Mario Soldati was an italian writer, journalist, essayist, director, screenwriter and television author.
On set, he starts as a clapperboard, has the impression that his humanistic and artistic studies are no longer useful as well as his books and articles. The meeting, however, with the then president of Cines Emilio Cecchi, and his esteem, led him to the 'subjects' sector, where he began his career as a screenwriter, continuing to collaborate with Mario Camerini as assistant director and intensifying the relationship with Guglielmo Alberti, coming from the same Turin area.
The first film broadcast by the newborn RAI on January 3, 1954 was one of his works, Le miserie del signor Travet.
