Giuni Russo, stage name of Giuseppa Romeo, was an Italian singer-songwriter. Research artist, experimental and avant-garde, forerunner of border music, between jazz and electronics, between blues and lyric, between pop and classical, between sacred and light music, characterized by the extreme ease of changing log. Equipped with a vocal extension in texture that covers almost five octaves, she was able to imitate perfectly the verse of the seagulls in the song Una estate al mare or in the song Gabbiano, managing to reach a do♯7 and in Il sole di Austerlitz a si♯7 (good examples of the so-called "whistle register" performed with the laryngeal mechanism M3, well mastered only by a few singers). In her long career she has recorded songs in Italian, Sicilian, Neapolitan, English, French, Japanese, Spanish, Arabic, Farsi and Latin.
