Yufit Eugene was born in Leningrad in 1961. In the early 80`s is organizing performances and participates in the "unofficial" art exhibitions Peter. In 1984 he creates an underground studio "Mzhalalafilm" and artistic group Necrorealists. In 1985 he shot his first short 16mm film "Sawyer". His early opuses - "Medics werewolves" (1985), "Spring" (1987), "Boar suicide" (1988) and "Courage" (1988) filmed in nekrorealisticheskoy style (these tapes he performs script writer, director, cameraman and editor at the same time); for example, "The orderlies werewolves" - tough and cheerful story about trupakov that in the forest caught and tortured sailor. By the end of the eighties necrorealism into fashion, and Eugene Yufit become known as one of the founding fathers of "parallel cinema". In 1988-1989 he studied at film school by Alexander Sokurov. In the nineties Eugene Yufit takes three feature-length films in collaboration with the artist Vladimir Maslov: "Dad died Grandfather Frost" (1991), "Wood Room" (1995), "Silver head" (1998).
