Daniele Lucio Maria Piombi was an italian television presenter, radio presenter and television author.
His love for journalism and entertainment dates back to the university years when he started performing in student revues. He must enter the world of entertainment at the meeting with a Modenese impresario who offered him to present a tour of the six singers competing at the Sanremo Festival 1956: Luciana Gonzales, Clara Vincenzi, Franca Raimondi, Tonina Torrielli, Ugo Molinari and Gianni Mazzocchi , who performed throughout Emilia Romagna.
In the second half of the fifties he moved to Milan, where the most successful programs of the time were carried out. In this context, he made his 22-year-old debut in the television program Viaggiare, broadcast by Rai in 1955, hosted in tandem with Renée Longarini, which marked the beginning of a long television and radio career, definitively abandoning his ambitions as a journalist. The program, broadcast on Monday evening after a movie, was a section that informed viewers (or subscribers, as they were then called), on train times, on the new itineraries that Alitalia offered, on possible Italian and European tourist destinations , travel stories, and various reports of local events taking place across the country.
From that moment on, he was also entrusted with many broadcasts from the end of the year, reviews and summer events, often related to tourism.
