Sergey Vasilyevich Rakhmaninov (Rachmaninoff) Russian: Сергей Васильевич Рахманинов 1 April (O.S. 20 March) 1873, Semenovo, Novgorod Province – 28 March 1943, Beverly Hills, USA. Russian composer, pianist, conductor. He synthesized in his works the principles of Petersburg and Moscow composer schools (as well as the traditions of Western European music) and created his own original style.
