Domenico Nino Ravasini, known as Nino Ravasini, was an Italian composer.
Graduated in accounting, he began working as a clerk at the Falck steelworks, cultivating music as a hobby until 1926, the year in which he decided to devote himself full time to the activity of composer, given the first successes achieved by his music, including the song Mio in 1924; in the first period he uses the pseudonym Vasin.
The great success came in 1929 with Roselline, launched by Nuccia Natali, a success that gave him a contract with the Suvini-Zerboni music editions that lasted from 1930 to 1938 and for which he wrote many songs for artists such as Carlo Buti.
In 1940 he composed the music for the revue Tutte donne, with Wanda Osiris, Erminio Macario and Erika Sandri.
In 1943 he wrote the music for Il tamburo della banda d'Affori, a song that, due to the text written by Mario Panzeri and Nino Rastelli, will be accused by the fascist regime, in particular for the verses in which we speak of the main drum of the band d'Affori, / who commands 550 fives, since the members of the Chamber of bundles and corporations were just 550 .... and the main drum seemed an allusion to Mussolini.
In the post-war period he obtained a great success with La classe degli asini, launched by Natalino Otto and resumed in the following years by many artists; in 1945 he founded the Ritmo Music Editions, based in via Conservatorio 17 in Milan.
