David Thoreau is an American writer.
After working as a campaign advance man and press liaison in the mid-1970s, Thoreau launched his writing career in San Francisco with the 1979 publication of his first novel, “City At Bay.” Upon the publication of his second and third novels, he moved to Southern California where he helped set up the Los Angeles Olympic Games in-house video operation in 1984.
Mr. Thoreau went to work for Michael Landon Productions in 1985 and continued working for Mr. Landon until 1990. He won the First Lady’s Excellence in Television Award for his Highway to Heaven script “Parent’s Day” in 1986. His television writing credits include such shows as Miami Vice, Quantum Leap, Murder She Wrote, The Sentinel and Walker Texas Ranger as well as pilots for CBS television, Alliance Entertainment and Salon Films of Hong Kong. Mr. Thoreau’s feature movie writing credits include “Side Out” and “Sweet Evil.”
