Renato Tagliani was an Italian television host, actor and businessman active mainly in the fifties and sixties.
In 1957, he conducted Telematch with Enzo Tortora and Silvio Noto. Tagliani in particular followed the game "of the mysterious object", in which he brought his previous radio experience: the television crew toured the different squares of Italy inviting the public to guess what a mysterious object was. It was a crowd bath for a presenter who stood out for his elegance and perfect knowledge of the Italian language, so neglected in the other Rai entertainment broadcasts.
Compared to a model of presenter more aimed at winning the consensus of the general public, Tagliani wanted to maintain a tone of "journalistic professional" that has manifested itself above all in interviews with famous people. He also managed to bring to his transmission characters reluctant to be interviewed such as Sophia Loren, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Pablo Picasso.
n 1958 he was assigned the highly coveted task of presenting Canzonissima, as the only show man from the world of television, flanked by a large group of film and theater actors (Walter Chiari, Ugo Tognazzi, Gianni Agus and Enza Soldi). It was the first edition of a combination between the musical show and the New Year's lottery with a formula, then replicated many times.
