Karl Heinz Mannchen

Karl Heinz Mannchen was a German film producer and screenwriter, who was also occasionally seen in small guest appearances in his films. Because of his Jewish ancestry, he fled to Spain during the German Nazi regime at a young age, where he joined the partisans. After the war, he initially worked as a production assistant for various Spanish film production companies from the late 1950s. In the mid-1960s he worked for Hesperia Films, where he met Jess Franco. From then on he was a kind of house and farm producer for Jess Franco for a while. He was married to the producer Maite (Mayte) Mannchen (born Maria Teresa Kardel).
