Giovanni Enrico Morassutti in full (born March 15, 1980 in Padua, ITA) is an italian actor, director and cultural entrepreneur. He began to study acting with Susan Strasberg while still a teenager and in 1999 he was an observer at the Actors Studio in New York and a student of Salem Ludwig at the HB Studio.
While in America he became a student of John Strasberg, son of Lee Strasberg and studied in depth the work of the realistic school of acting.
Since 2001 he has appeared in more than 20 films. As a stage actor he acted in the theatre production of Richard III at the Gene Frankel Theatre and he was cast by Ellen Stewart in Antigone, Trojan Women, Dionysus presented during the Festival Seven at La MaMa etc. among other projects. His credits as a director include the stage production of Sola in casa presented at the Cherry Lane , Madre Sin Panuelo and the documentary film Personal Dream Space currently in post production.
In 2004 he was admitted at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia directed by Academy award nominee Giancarlo Giannini.
Since 2007 he worked with Roberto Faenza in the The Viceroys Fabio Jephcott in Il Maresciallo Rocca e l´Amico d´infanzia, Cinzia Th Torrini in La Certosa di Parma, Stefano Usardi in Ventisette, Il Mio Giorno, Luigo and Affittasi Vita, Matteo Corazza in Poe Poetry of Eerie and he was cast in many other theatre and film projects. As a cultural entrepreneur he founded Art Aia - Creatives / In / Residence where he organized several workshops directed by John Strasberg, a photography masterclass by Mustafa Sabbagh as well as hosting several artists in residence curating exhibitions and open studios. In 2016 Giovanni Morassutti wrote the foreword of the Italian version of Strasberg book and in 2018 he attended the Cannes Film Festival as a cast member of For the time being directed by Daniela Lucato.
Giovanni Morassutti is also the founder of Art Aia - La Dolce Berlin.
