He was born in Bologna in 1916 and as early as the thirties, as a young boy, he began to tread the boards of the stage being part of amateur theater companies, and then moved on to writing and presenting, once enrolled at the University, fun and incisive goliardic shows, also with a few slightly risque jokes. It is the gym that will bring him, a little later, to practice the avanspectacle, also as an imitator of fashionable singers (Giovanni Guareschi even presented he, on the occasion of an evening in a Bolognese theater).
In 1945 he married a childhood friend who followed him with the avanspectacle company of which Marcheselli himself is the chief cook and whose validity does not escape the officials of Radio Bologna, who invite the mustachioed actor and animator to take care of and conduct the Sunday broadcast of variety widespread in Emilia-Romagna (and also in other Italian regions, including Lombardy: in September 1947 we find ours as presenter, together with Fausto Tommei, of a rich variety show that inaugurates the Odeon Cineteatro di Brescia and whose the main attraction is the emerging Lombard-Venetian comedian of Apulian origin Walter Chiari).
In the second half of the 1950s, on the other hand, there was TV: a column conceived and conducted by Marcheselli himself, entitled "Good luck" and dedicated to hunting and fishing, became popular. In this broadcast, he plays the role of the Ragionier Archimede Buttazzoni, passionate hunter and fisherman.
In 1962 he leads for the kids "Carnival Fantasy", from the Palazzo del Ghiaccio in Milan, with Febo Conti, Giuseppe Zecchillo and directed by Gianfranco Bettetini. Two other programs will follow this outdoor show, again from the Turin studios: "Our friend clown" and "Look who's there" (with the participation of Giustino Durano in the role of Professor Pietro Ciottolo, expert in improbable sports practiced in the Paleolithic era, by Gianni Cajafa, by the Turin illustrator Giorgio Cavallo, also author of the texts of the program, and by Silvana Lombardo, later active in the theater and in the Piedmontese dialectal song): therefore, in summer, together with Enzo Tortora , takes care of the external links of the third and last series of "Campanile sera", the prize game based on challenges between the cities of Italy and conducted by Mike Bongiorno.
