1874 Giuseppe Rocchetti founded the Parrucchi Rocchetti company in Rome in Largo del Pozzo delle Cornacchie. We mainly work for theaters.
Early 1900 the son Manlio, after going to refine the art of wig packaging in Paris, assumes the official role of wig maker and head of make-up of the Royal Opera House in Rome , transferring the laboratory to the headquarters in Via Monte della Farina, where he works until his death.
World War II Mrs. Vittoria (Manlio's widow) takes the reins of the company, aided by the workers, who then became among the most skilled and well-known hairdressers in the history of Italian cinema.
1948 the laboratory passes under the direction of Silvano Rocchetti , Manlio's third son, who with the tireless collaboration of his wife Fernanda , his sister- in- law Luigina Centi and his sister Fiamma , gives new impetus to the company. In those years Goffredo (make-up artist) and Mara (hairdresser) were very active on the most important film sets.
1970 from the meeting with Rino Carboni, Rocchetti & Carboni was born, then they acquired the Maggi laboratory and then the Palombi activity, becoming one of the most important international companies in the sector.
1996 with the disappearance of Carboni, the company returns to be managed only by the Rocchetti family.
2002 from the historical center, the company's headquarters moves to via Gregorio VII, where a large repertoire of wigs is kept, which have been part of the most beautiful films in the history of cinema.
Today after the death of Manlio (Oscar winner 1990 for the film Driving Miss Daisy) Luigi Rocchetti continues to enhance the laboratory, bringing the great experience accumulated in more than 40 years on the most important sets of national and international films and theaters.
