Paul America
Real name: Paul Johnson. Paul America was "discovered" by producer Lester Persky at the discotheque Ondine (at 308 E. 59th St in NYC) who then brought him to meet Andy Warhol at his Factory. According to Warhol, Paul was "unbelievably" good looking and got the name Paul "America" because he was staying at the Hotel America on West 46th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues, at the time. During his time at the Factory, Paul appeared in Warhol's series of "Screen Tests," Warhol's film "My Hustler" (1965), as well as an unreleased videotape portrait shot with a prototype Norelco camera.
