Ralph Thiekötter is a German sound engineer, speaker, musician and music producer. Ralph Thiekötter learned to play organ, piano, keyboard and guitar from the age of four. At the age of 17 he completed a two-year internship at Studio Funk GmbH & Co. KG, a production company for audio-visuals in Hamburg, where he was trained as a sound assistant. From 1978 he took over many of the sound mixes from TV and radio advertising in the studio. In addition, Ralph Thiekötter worked as a composer and music producer and realized various music for feature films and commercials. In the mid-1990s, Ralph Thiekötter specialized in the blending of multi-channel advertising films in the cinema and worked successfully with the Dolby company to implement a suitable sound standard for the loudness of advertising in the cinema. After the establishment of Studio Funk's own mixing cinema in Hamburg in the early 2000s, Ralph Thiekötter worked primarily as a sound mixer for national and international cinema and TV productions.
