Der Filmfonds Wien (The Vienna Film Fund) is the City of Vienna's film funding agency. It emerged from the Vienna Film Fund, founded in 1976, five years before the first Austrian film fund. After the Austrian Film Institute of the State of Austria, the Vienna Film Fund is the largest film funding agency in Austria. It awards around 11 million euros in funding annually.
The Filmfonds Wien is a member of the Cine Regio, an association of regional European film funding institutions founded in 2005 with the aim of bringing funding guidelines closer together and facilitating international co-productions.
