Lucio Dalla was an Italian singer-songwriter, musician and actor.
Jazz-trained musician, he was one of the most important and innovative Italian songwriters. In constant search for new stimuli and horizons, he has gone into various musical genres, collaborating and dueting with many nationally and internationally renowned artists. Author initially only of the music, he was discovered in a mature phase also lyricist and author of his texts. During his career, which has reached fifty years of activity, he has always played the piano, the saxophone and the clarinet, instruments, the latter two, which he practiced from a very young age.
His artistic production has gone through numerous phases: from the beat season to the rhythmic and musical experimentation, up to the singer-songwriter song, coming to cross the boundaries of opera and lyrical music. He was also known abroad and some of his songs have been translated and brought to success in numerous languages.
