Hornblower and the Atropos (1953) is a novel by C. S. Forester which is part of the Horatio Hornblower series.
Horatio Hornblower is posted to HMS Atropos, the smallest vessel in the Royal Navy that merits command by a post-captain, as he salvages treasure from the Mediterranean Sea.
Prior to book form the story was serialized in the USA in The Saturday Evening Post, July 25, 1953 – September 12, 1953. After the book was published it appeared in serial form in the UK in John Bull, 3 October 1953 – 28 November 1953.
