西遊記 (English: Journey to the West) by Wu Cheng'en is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature, published circa 1592.
An abridged translation by Arthur Waley, titled Monkey: A Folk-Tale of China, or more often known as simply Monkey, was published in 1942. The translation also won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize in 1942.
