| Notes | The first / original edition "The Key to the Tarot" was published in 1909 by William Rider & Son Ltd. (see Rider).
The same publisher annonced the illustraded edition "The Pictorial Key to the Tarot" to be published in April of 1911 and the title page does state 1911, the first copies were already delivered in November of 1910 though. It contains the unshaded black & white ink outlined designs by Pamela Colman Smith. Despite the actual card deck being always coloured, the 1960 edition (copyrighted 1959 due to a newly written introduction) by University Books was the first (at least partly) coloured printing of the book. |
