The former name of Kotimaisten kielten keskus, used from 1976 to 2011. Kotimaisten kielten keskus is a governmental linguistic research institute under the auspices of the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, devoted to the study and language planning of Finnish and Swedish. They also coordinate the activities of the Sami, Romani, and Sign Language Boards.
