György Ligeti

György Sándor Ligeti (28 May 1923, in Diciosânmartin – 12 June 2006, in Vienna) was an Austrian-Hungarian composer. His works and his innovative micropolyphonic compositional technique received widespread acclaim, not least due to Stanley Kubrick's use of Ligeti's music as the soundtrack to "2001: A Space Odyssey".
