Zabert Sandmann GmbH

Zabert Sandmann Verlag, sometimes credited as Zabert Sandmann GmbH, ZS Zabert Sandmann or ZS Verlag (GmbH), is a publishing company for non-fiction books about food, drinks and cookery. Founded in 1984 by publisher Friedrich-Karl Sandmann and photographer Arnold Zabert, who left the company in 1988. From 1990 to 2002, Heyne Verlag held the majority of company shares, which were bought back by Sandmann, after the Axel Springer AG took over Heyne. In 2010, Sandmann sold 75 % of the shares to the Edel AG (former Edel Music AG), the remaining in 2014.
