Mary Hahns Kochbuchverlag

In 1912, Mary Hahn (née Rilke) and her second husband Ernst Hahn founded the publishing house "M. Hahn Verlagsbuchhandlung" in Frankfurt am Main, moved to Werningerode in 1915, moved to Neubabelsberg in 1925. After separation,Ernst and his new wife Ingeborg Hahn (née Goldschatt) continued the old company as "Kochbuchverlag Hahn & Co.", Mary founded "Mary Hahn's Kochbuchverlag" 1928 in Berlin-Steglitz, whereby her daughters from her first marriage took the publishing management. The company stopped activities in the late 1930s. In 1952, Paul von Bergen reactivated / refounded Mary Hahns Kochbuchverlag and merged it to Universitas Verlag as an imprint. In 1972, Universitas joined the F. A. Herbig Verlagsbuchhandlung GmbH and moved to Munich in 1980. The imprint was shortened to Mary Hahn Verlag in 1987. The name was shared within the company, as Nymphenburger and Herbig published under that label, later Nymphenburger reissued some titles under it's own name. Kosmos-Verlag bought the Mary Hahn Verlag in 2005 and renamed it to Edition Mary Hahn. The imprint was only used for a short time, reissues of older titles were released under the Kosmos label. From 2007 to 2008, Kosmos had a publisher series called "Mary Hahn Küchenpraxis".
