| Notes | This was the fourth edition of Joel Whitburn's Top Adult Contemporary books, which feature the research of Billboard's Adult Contemporary charts. For the first time ever, the research of Billboard's Adult Top 40 chart became available, thus creating the title "Top Adult Songs". Contains the research for: AC charts (7/17/61 to July 2006) and AT40 charts (3/16/96 to July 2006; the chart technically started on October 7, 1995 as a test chart, but did not become published until March 16, 1996.). Other new features included every songs' songwriters, as well as decade artists rankings next to their name. Excluded in this edition are B-sides, picture sleeve and record price guides, and Pop chart positions. The book is still in print. Unfortunately, it has not been updated since, and Record Research recently stated there are no plans for a new edition. There is also no research of either chart existing in print since 2007. |
