NotesThe first book published by Gnome Press. First Edition, First Printing, First State. Boards bound in grey cloth with red lettering. Due to an error during printing, there are two states of the first printing, as follows: First State (this): The copyright page says "FIRST EDITION." Second State: The copyright page says "Second Printing." Both states of the first printing were issued in identical boards. As much as half of the first printing says "Second Printing." There was also a second printing in 1949. The actual second printing was issued in boards bound in gold cloth with red spine lettering
