ARTE

Arte (own spelling ARTE; abbreviation for French Association Relative à la Télévision Européenne) is a public broadcaster based in Strasbourg, France. It is operated in German-French cooperation by the two members Arte Germany in Baden-Baden and Arte France in Issy-les-Moulineaux near Paris. The station was founded in 1991 by a state treaty of October 2, 1990 between the French Republic and the then ten West German countries and West Berlin and went on air on May 30, 1992.
