Archibald Constable and Company, Ltd

Archibald Constable & Co. was a Scottish publisher founded in Edinburgh in 1795 by Archibald Constable. At some point in the late 19th or early 20th century it became Archibald Constable & Co. Ltd. and by the late 1910s, Constable & Company Limited which it remained until the late 1990s when it merged with Robinson Publishing. The company also used the name Constable & Co., though it is unclear if this is just an abbreviated version of the company names already mentioned. Constable is now an imprint of the Little, Brown Book Group.
