Constable and Company Ltd

British publisher, founded in 1795 as Archibald Constable & Co.. At some point in the late 19th or early 20th century it became Archibald Constable & Co. Ltd.. The name Constable & Company Limited came in to use by the 1910s which it remained until the late 1990s when it merged with Robinson Publishing to become Constable & Robinson Ltd. Constable is now an imprint of the Little, Brown Book Group. NB. Unclear if Constable & Co. is an official name or imprint the publisher used or is just an abbreviated version of one of the above companies mentioned.
